It's been a while since i have been on the forum but i'd just like to take this opportunity to say how much i'm enjoying the friendship and the participation whilst playing online with some of you. I have been working huge hours at work lately so it has been refreshing to come home, stick my feet up and jump online and play a few rounds with you guys !!

I have been playing BF3 for about 4 months now since i got my new computer built and have become reasonably ok at long distance sniping. I have avoided playing in a squad as the mere thought of being up in the heat of battle scared me a little i think. I much prefer to sit back at 500 - 1000mtrs or more and pick them off. For the last week or so i have been playing with the guys on Teamspeak in Operation Metro, and i have to admit, i am really enjoying the experience !!

After long hours at my job, i'm probably not the shiniest penny in the bank and the reaction times are a bit slow, so please forgive me guys. :fail: I'm sure i'll get better as time goes on but for now i'm quite happy to count all the bullet holes in the ceiling in Metro as i seem to spend more time on my back than i do standing upright !! lol.

I have just tried to change my nickname on here from the old 'SayGoodnight' to 'superglide422' as i'm known on BF3. If i haven't been successful, i sure could need a hand Struth (hint hint) Anyway, time to jump online and go count some more bullet holes in the ceiling in Metro. Once again guys, thanks for all your help and continuing patience.

It's also a market!

Having read and participated in many post and forums regarding this topic, one can only conclude the move to the third person for the PC version, will at the very least alienate this product line from its core PC audience. Given the success of today's top end FPS offerings, why on earth would you want to get offside with the original fan base from the FPS PC market?


The ghost-recon series has always maintained the first person aspect which is of fundament importance to me and somehow I don't think I'm alone, EA has shipped 15 million copies of BF3 for the PC, verses only 10 million for the entire console market. I hope this will send a wakeup call...

"People won't FPS and they won't it on the PC more than anything!"


So who buys 15 million copies? Old people, that's who; last year the PC market had an average demographic age of 38 year olds, the previous year in 2010 it was 40, it may be decreasing but there's no getting away from the fact that this is the age group that buy FPS computer games.


I don't play third person shooters, don't like them, they seem unconvincing, childish and console like to me. If it were console or third person the only option for interactive gaming then it's over for me. You can rest assured that won't be happening any time soon as the ever increasing sales of FPS PC games, not to mention the massive hardware related product industry has company CEO's all over the globe salivating over the balance sheets.

I won't be rushing out to get my copy of the new Ghost Recon. The gates are up around The Holy City ready for residents to move in and build their homes and shops. Making money and being on top is the main idea for these city dwellers, they work hard and trade away.
Also keeping in mind we have the Black Market under our nose corrupting the city for all it has to offer!
Where do these people hide? What do they want?, and how long can this go on for!?
Only time will tell.

To the West the Holy Plains hold a small amount of villagers but heroic and powerful they are! Keeping all of those resources to themselves and giving nothing back to the city!
They strive for nothing more than a simple life, but every day they see more and more city dwellers wandering around, cutting down their trees, invading their personal mines!
What else can one do without the law by their side?
SO THEY TAKE MATTERS INTO THEIR OWN HANDS

Further up north live the few adventurous survivors in the Northen Frontier,
yes that's right, Northen not Northern. (I swear it's supposed to be like that)
Not even feeling a pinch of the darkness that the Black Market spreads.
Hidden away deep in places unknown they do nothing but adventure underground and live life.

Last and definitely least sits the Grim forest. Nothing there but snow, ice and, trees. Awaiting for someone to give it some attention.
Who knows what is in store for the future.
